Hi,

thanks for all your answers (ActiveX and component for msoffice and asp)

but i 've another question for reporting.

Should pdf be better for reporting with asp than Excel or Word ?

If you think yes, so d'you know how can i create one ?

I don't think so. PDF requires the acrobat reader, and if the user doesn't
have the Acrobat program itself, they can't manipulate the data. Use CSV.
Then they can import into Excel (or virtually and spreadsheet / database)
and do anything they like to the data.

I can't use csv with this kind of project because users' knowledge are too
different.

I must create a good looking report.

In one way, acrobat reader is free download.
Word, Excel are not. And i don't know if customers have MSOffice neither are
on PC, Mac or other.

Have you thought about creating RTF files? They will be read (afaik) by any
word processor. Of course, that requires learning the RTF tags, but the
specs are freely available at the MS website, and you can reverse-engineer
from a sample doc.
