May I ask what strategy you have for syncing once Google Reader goes on 1st July? When I first used NNW. It had its own syncing system. Are we going back to that?

How, since Feedly is apparently built atop Google Reader?

I don't think NNW had its own cloud-based system, if that's what you mean.

You can always subscribe to feeds directly from NNW rather than having it sync to your Google Reader subscriptions.

According to Feedly's latest update on their blog, http://blog.feedly.com/2013/03/14/google-reader/, they have a mechanism in place to run our feeds once Google Reader closes. I take this to mean that Feedly will then work as its own reader, not required to be synched with anything else. Once this happens, Feedly will be my main browser-based and mobile-based reader app, just like Google Reader used to be. However, I would like NNW to then synch to Feedly so I can continue to use NNW's smart folders in the NNW stand alone app. I don't know of any other reader app that has smart folders that will let me filter my feeds according to certain keyword criteria.

Yes, it did. Newsgator Online. Until August 2009. I still have the email telling me of NewsGator online's demise.

Feedly is unwinding that. They're basically doing their version of the Google Reader API.

That's right, Newsgator, thanks for reminding me
