All of the sudden my feeds are gone.

As suggested by other postings, I have gone to the Library/Application
Support/NetNewsWire/ and there is NO folder called NetNewsWire. So I
cannot locate a backed up version of any preferences. There is not
NetNewsWire folder anywhere on my computer except for the application
itself.

So, is this because I was running the free version?
I will gladly buy the NON FREE version. But I am trying to sort out
what happened. And if there is a way to get back all of my 50+
something feeds.

Please advise. Thx!
Jojo

Are you sure you're looking in the right place? It seems like you're saying you're looking in

/Library/Application Support/NetNewsWire/

but on my Mac the folder is at

~/Library/Application Support/NetNewsWire/

The difference is that the first one is right on the top level of my hard drive and the second on is in my Home folder. In other words, my NetNewsWire folder is at

hard drive/Users/myUserName/Library/Application Support/NetNewsWire/

Also, if you're just doing a search for folders named NetNewsWire you won't find it if you're using Spotlight because it won't normally search for things in your Library folders. That may be why you're not finding it. (I use the free EasyFind to search my computer.)

Or, it could be that your folder is truly gone for some reason and that's why NNW isn't seeing your feeds any more. In that case you can get the folder from a backup and see if your feeds come back.

Theres no difference now that there is a Google Reader syncing for the
free and paid version.
Did you move your application, or home folder items sometime before?

If its only 50 RSS feeds then its not a huge loss, probably easier
just to go back to these sites and reactivate them.

As your RSS grows (mine is 500?) its best to go to preferences in NNW
and sync with
one of your gmail accounts for Google Reader. This way you can view
your feeds
on any app you choose that support GR, like most iPad or iPhone RSS
apps if you have or plan to purchase
one in the future.

Hope you can fix this issue.

Best

I have yet to get the sync'ing with Google Reader working. So I'm not sure that's necessarily true for everybody. Neither does NNW always retain state correctly, even on small numbers of feeds.
