Use Quicktime other than Flash?

Hi there,

Like a lot of people, I've decided to forego Flash (the latest version
stuck my Mac at 510% of CPU usage--all because of ads!). Of course,
that means a lot of sites are 'broken' for me.

I was wondering if a future version of NNW might be using Quicktime--
or, alternately, the 'video' element of HTML5 or something--in order
to bypass this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Ray

NetNewsWire displays whatever appears in the feed -- if that's Flash,
it's Flash. If it's HTML5, it's HTML5.

It might be possible to get clever about some specific, very popular
cases (such as YouTube) -- but, in general, NetNewsWire will have to
display whatever it's given.

PS I'm no fan of Flash myself -- I wish the entire web would switch
over to HTML5 as quickly as possible.

YouTube has a site-wide HTML5 option here:

http://www.youtube.com/html5

I appreciate that YouTube lets me control how I get content, and hope
any cleverness around content swapping in NetNewsWire would give me that
same level of control.
