coming updates for iphone app - really?

Was very surprised to see at Gruber's that there was a NNW update for
Mac. Came here and saw the even more surprising news that updates
would be coming for iphone/ipad NNW apps as well.

I think it's pretty clear (from reviews at app store, forum posts here
and elsewhere) that the iPhone app has a huge problem with updating
unread feeds. I had gotten to the point of force quitting the app
daily or more often to get the feeds to update.

I would suggest that you not bother updating the iPhone app until you
can release an update that fixes this rather fundamental problem -
otherwise you will just annoy your remaining users. When you released
the fix for Twitter functionality a couple of months ago, that
irritated me to the point that I dumped NNW for Reeder. It was as if I
had told my mechanic that my car stalled all the time and all he did
was change the burned out light bulb in the vanity mirror - although
he had the car more than long enough to rebuild it from scratch.

I'm pretty slow to replace apps that I've been using for a while
(e.g., I still use Eudora), but NNW became the first and only iPhone
app that I've paid more than $0.99 for that I've dumped from my phone.

So good luck with those updates - I'm still a very satisfied user of
the Mac version of NNW, but I doubt I'll try the iPhone version again
before you get to version 3.
