Latest news not working

I am not sure when this started, but the latest news section doesn't
show anything anymore. I used to open latest news, look at an entry
and use the arrow button to go to next unread, now the latest news is
always blank. Feeds are still showing in the correct folders below,
but I really liked the latest news.

If you look in the feeds, do you see items from the past 24 hours or
so?

Yes, I use netnewswire on mac as well and they seem to show the same
feeds, just latest news on ipad is totally blank.
