Akoustik Piano puts a strong focus on the accurate recreation of soundboard resonance for realistic playing behaviour. Special attention was given to the authentic implementation of the sustain, sustenuto and soft pedals, even including the effect of pressing the sustain pedal after a note has been struck. Expert settings allow for individual changes to the soundboard resonance characteristics, the key and pedal noise, and the position of the piano lid for each of the four instruments.
Hey, Native Instruments: Why not creating some pure acoustic expansions for maschine+ as long as all of our acoustic high end Komplete / Kontakt stuff is useless for that box? I am not talking about a 60GB grand piano with 20 velocity zones. Just give as a few quite good acoustic pianos and also some better rhodes and wurlitzer stuff in different resolutions that some RAM space is left for other instruments.
Each piano sounds noticeably different, but it's evident that they've all been painstakingly sampled and that a great deal of care has gone into retaining the sonic character of the originals. Whether you caress them gently or hit them hard, these instruments feel marvellous and sound truly magnificent.
Nevertheless, Akoustik Piano is a top quality, outrageously easy to use piece of software. It's full of nice touches - you even get a 2-track recorder and a MIDI file player - and, at times, feels as much like a celebration of the instruments it emulates as it does a workhorse piano module.
Previously available within the acclaimed AKOUSTIK PIANO, these instruments can now be purchased individually to specifically accommodate a certain sound or musical genre, or as a bundle that offers the full range of piano tones.
All four pianos are powered by the industry-leading KONTAKT engine, and are playable in the free KONTAKT PLAYER as well as the full KONTAKT sampler. The three concert grands and the upright piano recreate each nuance and detail of the original instruments by combining elaborate multi-sampling with sophisticated emulation of soundboard resonance and pedal behavior. Making full use of the advanced sampling and scripting features of the KONTAKT engine, they remain both efficient and convenient to use for a wide range of musical styles and applications.
