Dear all,

This is a unique opportunity to learn Agent-Based and Individual-Based Modelling directly from two of the leading experts in the field: Prof. Volker Grimm and Prof. Steve Railsback, authors of the landmark book Agent-Based and Individual-Based Modeling: A Practical Introduction.

Join us in Berlin at the FU University, 24–28 August, for an intensive 5-day course on Agent-based and Individual-based Modelling using NetLogo.

Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course52/

During this hands-on course, you will learn how to design, implement, analyse, and evaluate agent-based models that can be applied to your own research questions. Through lectures, programming tutorials, practical exercises, and an independent modelling project, you will gain the skills needed to build scientifically rigorous ABMs.

You will learn:

  • The principles behind individual-based and agent-based modelling.
  • How to translate biological processes and behaviours into models.
  • How to implement models using NetLogo, one of the most widely used ABM platforms.
  • How to develop robust models using approaches such as the ODD Protocol, Pattern-Oriented Modelling, and TRACE documentation.
  • How to analyse simulation results and use models as scientific tools.

Registration is closing soon!

We look forward to welcoming you to Berlin!

Best regards,

Carlo
