Hi NetLogo users,

It’s an exciting time for NetLogo.

This is a short note to give you an update on NetLogo and announce some changes to the community.

We have good news —  the National Science Foundation has given us an award to create a foundation for strengthening the resources for the NetLogo-users community, and put the NetLogo software and associated tools on a sustainable footing for the foreseeable future.

We are working on improvements to the software and would like to encourage many of you to submit open-source contributions of various kinds, including source code for core NetLogo products, models, educational materials, and other resources.

As part of this effort, we have created a forum for NetLogo that we intend to be a hub for the NetLogo user community. Like the netlogo-users mailing list, it will include questions and answers from users. Our intent for the forum is to expand upon those functions including discussions of NetLogo-related topics and links to many NetLogo resources.

One of our developers will send out a note soon, following up on how to use and engage with the forum.

We will not deprecate the netlogo-users list and will continue to
support the list until such time the NetLogo forum becomes the best
and most widely used communication channel. For now, you are encouraged to submit user-support questions and answers to either the NetLogo-users list or the new forum, once it is released.

We look forward to hearing from you about this announcement, and hearing about possible collaborations you’d be interested in.

All the best,

—Uri
