Hi,

I'm new to Netlab toolkit but I find it very exciting.
I tried to get Flash to talk to Live but I can not figure out where to set the Midi configurations
("make sure your MIDI configuration is correct, set the MIDI connection to the appropriate value – usually “from MediaControl_mac 1″ for software MIDI applications")
Is that in Flash, in the media controller or in Live?

Thanks

Ruud

A few things to check:

  1. Start Live first - I forget exactly how it works, but I think you need to define in Live it's Midi name.
  2. Launch MediaControl after Live, and set the Midi Send on the left to Live's input
  3. The easiest thing to try first is controller 7, which be default controls volume
Good luck.

Here's a more detailed explanation, and a correction from the below:

1) Open MediaControl first
2) In Live, open Preferences>MIDI Sync
3) Under MIDI ports you should see from mediacontrol_2 1 (or something similar)
4) Select Remote so it show ON
5) Go to the main Live interface and select the MIDI in the upper right corner
6) The interface elements should turn blue - click on the element you want to control
7) Use the "Controller" in MediaControl and move the slider back and forth
8) That controller number should now be assigned to that element in Live

There's more info about this in Live' help system - especially the Mapping Browser section you can see in the below screen shot.

One other thing to do

4.5) Where in the MIDI Sync preferences, where it says Control Surface at the top, under Input, select the "from media control..."
