Anyways, I used what little programming skills I had and basically made a device profile for the MP Navigator software for it to work. I used the MX870 series file as a base since that was the last MX printer to support MP Nav. I only did basic testing with default settings and it works so far. Looks like I can use the scanner driver (scan gear) if I want more advanced settings and it'll output it directly to the navigator still. I can now scan multiple pages and actually pick the ones I want to save into a PDF.
So I just ran into this. Found ij scan lite and have to say i feel like I went back 10 years. Does not seem to be able to do slides. PHoto seems to have not auto detection. Don't seem to have any controls. 100 bucks for VueScan to get slide capability puts me inline for purchasing another "NON canon" printer. Wow you could not just recompile makes some fixes and re-releases for Mojave.
Using windows10(32)I have a Canon Pixma MG5250 all in one printer.I recently deleted the printer and reinstalled it with up to date drivers from Canon web site because the start up CD would not work. Printer prints OK but will not scan; I keep getting error message (" error occurred when trying to copy files") when i download the MP navigator file from Canon site.
had the same problem, no need for additional software, on mac go to applications folder look for MP Navigator, create an alias and put on desktop, when you want to scan a doc just launch MP Navigator and scan from app, hopefully canon will update driver soon for mavericks, at least this way you dont have to buy additional software.
