Hellos,
buried in a previous thread I mentioned going to the local weekend markets to recruit users while dressed as a "human billboard". I'm pretty excited to give it a try, but also realizing the need to finish-up some remaining software issues before reselling RPi credit meters on the street. The current software is more or less the same as the software Kirby and I demo'd last year in Portland. There remains some configurability still to be implemented on both the Credit-Meter and Credit-Feeder sides. So I've taken-over the Living Room for a few days while I delve into producing updated versions of both meter and feeder sides. One change to look for is the front page of both sites; rather than just the 1x2 layout with Child and Parent logins, I'm going to make it 2x2 with the top 2 row auto-logging either child or parent/teaacher into the online Credit-Feeder, and the bottom row logging into the Credit-Meter. Likewise, at the feeder site, the bottom row will redirect to 192.168.1.1's respective accounts. That assumes that you are accessing the whitelisted feeder website via your Raspberry Pi. If not, then some modal message will show and explain the intended purpose of the corresponding login button that was pushed. The idea is to simplify the navigation of the two separate sites. I'll be developing on my local RPi so changes won't show-up on either
http://meter.creditfeed.me or
http://www.creditfeed.me for a while. Once the upgrade is ready I plan to create a video, make a brochure, upload a new meter SD card img, and finally decorate my billboard and hit the markets. But for now I just wanted to share these pics of the blank human billboard. The finished billboard will be broadcasting the Credit-Meter website from my RPi running on USB battery and providing internet access to the Credit-Feeder website and beyond via my phones HotSpot. The billboard will have day-glo blurbs like "Got Kids?" and "Ask me how!" ... provocative conversation starters, hopefully. Someday I'll solder-up some blinking marquis lights and perhaps a "feather boa" around the perimeter. I'll post updates and interim pics to this thread. Please add your comments, thoughts and ideas below.
