Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will be responsible for
both the day-to-day running and maintenance of the systems providing
Netcom's Internet service and for development of enhancements and new
systems. You would also be required to be on call, initially one week
in four.


Technical skills required include:

A good knowledge of UNIX, specifically Solaris 2

Understanding of common ISP server software

A thorough grounding in all basic Internet skills.

Programming ability in C/C++ and Perl.

Knowledge of Internet-related security issues


Additional knowledge of Sun hardware, Linux, *BSD and PC hardware, network
technologies, routing, telecomms and telephony and X11 would be useful.


Salary up to £28k per annum dependent upon experience plus callout payment
