Computer Operations Team. The people we are looking for aren't

Unix Systems Administrator

Salary range 27- 31,000 GBP dependent upon experience + 4,000 GBP
on call rota payment when fully trained.

Working as part of a technically competent team of Unix Systems
Administrators you will be maintaining over 40 machines within a
modern, technically advanced environment.

This is a challenging role, which provides the opportunity to
learn internet related skills.

Essential skills

* 2 - 3 years Systems administration experience
* Good working knowledge of C programming and Bourne Shell
scripting
* Experience of Solaris, 2.5/2.6
* TCP/IP technology
* Participation in an on call rota system
* Experience of documenting work completed in a clear and
concise fashion
* Good communication skills
* Must be able to focus on deadlines and achieve them
* Past experience of working as part of a team
* Accountable for work

It is essential that candidates understand all the technology
involved in the ISP business i.e. Solaris, TCP/IP etc.

The ideal candidate will have an ISP background

Highly Desirable

* Experience of Perl
* Experience of Linux
* RADIUS
* Apache
* Usenet/news technology
* Unix and network security
* Real Audio
* Any Web experience would be very useful (HTML, CGI
Scripting)
