Work email is forwarded to netcom shell account. Inbox gets that stuff,
plus whatever else shows-up. At work Netscape will check the netcom inbox,
but leave the messages resident. Inbox is cleaned from the home machine.
Yesterday Netscape pops up a dialogue box that says:
Mailserver:
Unable to process From line (envelopes)
Change recognition modes
Then the machine locks.
So, I tried from home, and same result. So I telnet in and try PINE. Pine
says something like "file format invalidated (find an expert), process
aborted" So I tried the "frm" command, and a full list of email shows up.
I've not been able to "more" through the inbox to any data (there's a lot of
empty lines), and when I tried to FTP a copy of inbox down that's not worked
well either.
It appears that the inbox is corrupted.
Mindspring is useless (suggested deleting the inbox & losing the 5 MB of
email that's piling up). They did suggest using this newsgroup,
unfortunately it appears pretty damn thin from my work ISP (not mindsping).
Argh. Please respond both to group & email.
TIA, andybrwn
