How do you build a device with pass through ports like a fiber patch panel so when you make a circuit connection it uses both fiber ports on the panel? For example you make a connection to a 10Ge port on a router with a SPF and it cables to a fiber patch panel that you need to use ports 1 & 2 for TX & RX. Building the panel is no problem but I try to make the actual connection it only allows for one port on the patch panel. What am I missing when building the ports to allow it to assign 2 at a time? Sorry new to this so might be a strange question. Thanks for your help!

Generally, if I have something like a duplex LC-SC (or similar), I'll just use a single port on the patch panel named with both position numbers - i.e., a port named 1-2 for a cable taking position 1 and position 2 on the panel.  It means a little more administrative work if you move cables around a lot, but may be an option.
