'tuple' object has no attribute 'lower' while authenticating me

Using python environment 3.8.5

I can log in if I don't set any of the group filtering. 

This has something to do with when I try to require our IT group. 

I can post up configs if anyone wants but I'll need to redact some info first. 

There's one other post from 10 months ago but nobody answered it.

It almost seems like a syntax error in the python file it's importing but since I didn't write I have no idea what it could be.

Hmm, 

for me it was AUTH_LDAP_REQUIRE_GROUP that caused the error and setting AUTH_LDAP_FIND_GROUP_PERMS to false from true fixed it.
