I'm curious how others have done this with Hyper Converge appliances in documenting and placing it in NetBox. For example, we have a Nutanix block with three nodes (each comprising of compute, storage, memory). i've created 4 different devices for this appliance, the actual Nutanix appliance, and then each node. Each node is defined as a non-racked device. I made device types for each node and nutanix appliance with a child parent relationship. Its a little weird because I've had to specify the nodes as VMware as the manufacture since I specify ESXi on the node and not the Nutanix management.

Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have suggestions?

I'm about to look at this myself as we're running Nutanix.  The way you've described is what I was thinking, although we're running AHV as the hypervisor, so would define a AHV versions as a platform and asian to the nodes
