Nginx and SSL for Netbox

Hi,

I have setup Netbox in my office environment. I have not installed Nginx and SSL Certificate as of now. I just want to know that it is mandatory to install both of these ? anf if Yes, Pls define specific purpose of doing it.

Definitely not mandatory. The value in doing such is encrypting communication between you (the client ... and others) and the NetBox installation for the purpose of protecting sensitive data as much as possible.

Thank you Andrew for your quick response. one more thing that i want to make it automated. Can i install Netbox using puppet ?  I tried to find puppet module for Ubuntu 18.04 but it seems to be not available.

Can you provide assistance on it ?
