How are you tracking your optics

Just wondering how most people are tracking the various optics that get plugged into their switches/routers etc.

I found a reference in 2016 to something like this https://github.com/digitalocean/netbox/issues/512.

My 2c

Listing these as inventory items tied to a specific device is a start, but there seems to be no way to create a relationship between a network interface e.g. ge-0/0/0 on a Juniper switch and say it's installed FiberStore 1310 SM Duplex optic.
