Firstly, thank you for providing this tool and the community, which is allowing us to manage all of our devices efficiently.

We are currently facing a problem with our initial plans, I am not 100% sure if it's possible or if it's a feature request :

  1. We would like to manage users/groups viewing rights on custom fields e.g. limiting the view of monthly recurrent cost (custom field) of each circuits.

My research on the documentation or on current request hasn't matched any results for this kind of functionality.

Is this possible on the current version? Doable by using something more of a trick? or simply if it can be a feature improvement request.

Thanks so much for the great work,

kind regards,

Victor

There are no field-level permissions.

Maybe you could put your costing functionality into a plugin, with its own model/table?  But the plugin would also have to restrict access to itself.  I'm not sure if Netbox's permissions model can be applied to plugin models.

We won't be making any further changes to the permissions system in the foreseeable future. The system in place now was several years in the making.

Thank you guys for your prompt answers.

@Brian, I will try to take your route and do a plugin, it's just one field that we need to link to a circuit ID on the background.
@Jeremy, ok I understand :)

If anyone else manage this kind of needs in another way, please let me know !

See you,

Victor
