I'm looking to splice wires from a DB-sub (9 pin) connector out to a breadboard but I'm getting different pictures for color-coding which makes me confused. What's more confusing is the connect I have only has 4 wires form the cable despite having 9 pins. The colors (red, black, brown, and orange) include some colors not listed in the color code I found below. I must be looking at the wrong color code but I don't know where to find the right one? Thanks

Custom wiring is the ideal solution for installing trailer light wiring on your vehicle. A custom wiring harness or 'T-connector' is a vehicle-specific harness that plugs in without any spicing required and provides a standard connector output, such as a 4-way flat.

A custom wiring harness has multiple plugs that are used to 'T' into the vehicle's taillight assembly, drawing power directly from the taillights or from a direct battery connection and providing a standard trailer light wiring connector. While custom wiring harnesses usually require two or more connection points, splicing and soldering are still not needed.

While some vehicles may not be equipped with a standard trailer wiring connector, they may have a special socket specifically intended for installing wiring, provided by the vehicle manufacturer. A custom wiring connector uses a single plug to plug into this factory socket and provide a standard trailer wiring connector.

Like a T-connector, an original equipment wiring harness plugs into the USCAR socket without any cutting, splicing or soldering required, and it provides a standard trailer wiring output, such as a 4-way flat or 7-way RV blade.

A taillight converter or electrical converter splices into your vehicle and provides a standard trailer plug wiring connector, typically a 4-way flat. The converter converts the vehicle's complex wiring system to be compatible with your trailer's simple wiring system. To learn more about vehicle wiring systems, check out our vehicle wiring systems guide.

Following the standard method for wiring a trailer connector is vital to the safety of your vehicle while towing. Connecting the wrong color wires will result in mismatched taillight functions and confusion on the road.

The traditional 7-way RV blade format is typically used on 5th wheel trailers, travel trailers and campers. The trailer wiring colors for this configuration are different than those on the SAE configuration.

Hello I was trying to figure out what does it mean when the light next to the hole in which I plug the laptop charger changes the light colors, sometimes is white and sometimes is orange, The laptop did not come with a physical user manual and I couldnt find the info about the light in the one I found online.

the laptop model is a "HP 15-bs015dx"

The reason why im currently trying to figure out why is for two reasons that may or may not be connected sometimes when the battery is at a certain level the laptop will shutdown but It wont shutdown like a laptop who is low in battery shut downs it just straight turns off like if you removed the battery or pressed the power button for five seconds or more

The other reason is because sometimes when the laptop is being charge the battery icon goes from "its being charge" to as if it wasnt.

This is the reason why I am looking to figure out why the laptop light changes as when the laptop icon shows itself as being charge the light icon is orange however when its not and the battery icon just shows itself normally as if it wasnt (with the charged very obviously pluged in) the light goes from orange to white.

I cant entirely tell the origin of these problems as the two of them may be or may not be connected and there are a lot of things that could be the reason for them to happen, im currently planning on restoring Windows (Windows10) and see if it has any problem

anyhow what I definelty need to know is what each color of the light means so please even if you have some questions please do answer what each one of them mean.

---

Just to make a few things clear: I am not sure of the current state of the charger is it working perfectly is it not? I dont know but it happens regardless of in which house plug is pluged in

the laptop only turns off when its low on battery but it does it before it hits the actual low level of battery of 15-18%

the laptop hasnt fallen or gotten wet

all drivers seem to be up to date

Power Tests - There are several power tests available, the Power Source Test, the AC Adapter Test, and the Battery Test. Use the Power Source option to check both the battery and AC adapter, or use the two individual tests to check each of them separately.

AC Adapter Test - The AC Adapter test provides an interactive test to determine if the AC power adapter is functioning properly. A good battery is required for this test. Before running the AC Adapter Test, HP recommends verifying that your computer can receive power by connecting a known working AC adapter.

Hello, I did the factory reset I mentioned and It didnt fix anything as I was excepting.

About your suggestions I finished doing the test and all of them were marked as "Passed" I did them more than a few times, I belive I tried each test from 4 to 6 times just to make sure and all of them seemed to always give "Passed" as a result except for one single test which was only gave me a different result once here is the picture as I wanst sure how to save the info and in a better way.

This is the result I would always get except for that one time.

One thing I do have to mention is that whenever I did the test they would take less than a minute even less than 30 seconds which was something that I felt was strange and the reason why I decided to run each test more than one time, is this normal?

One thign I also feel like I should add is that the range in which both problems (laptop abruptly turning itself off without even saving windows and the battery light color and icon changing when it shouldnt) seem to happen within the 18 and 35% of the battery level.

Also according to what you told me of what the colors of the light means that means that the laptop lights seem to change from its charing to its already fully charge however the battery icon I see on windows does something similar yet different instead of showing the icon as if it was already charge it shows the icon as if it wasnt charging.

Could the results I got be the reason why these problems are happening?

To answer the questions you made me:

-Im not entirely sure can't really give a answer right now as I have reasons to belive it does aswell as reasons to say it doesnt.

-I don't have another charger that is compatible so I havent been able to try with a different one.

The problem is laptop discounting charging, while it is plug in,not getting fully charged.it automatically shut down when battery level is below 25% and if I'm removing the battery and plugging ac adaptor then instead of orange light it's indicating white light.

It is also called RCA phono connector[5] or phono connector.[6][7] The word phono in phono connector is an abbreviation of the word phonograph, because this connector was originally created to allow the connection of a phonograph turntable to a radio receiver. RCA jacks are often used in phono inputs, a set of input jacks usually located on the rear panel of a preamp, mixer or amplifier, especially on early radio sets, to which a phonograph or turntable is attached.

In some European countries such as France and Germany, the name cinch is still used as an antonomasia of the Chicago-based manufacturer Cinch,[citation needed] for such a connector and socket.

By no later than 1937, RCA introduced this connector. In 1937, it was used inside a RCA model U-109 radio-phonograph and model R-97 phonograph. In the U-109, the internal amplifier chassis had female connectors which accepted male cables from the internal radio chassis and built-in phonograph player.[9][10] Originally, the concept was intended as an easy method to unhook sources while troubleshooting the console during servicing.[citation needed]

By no later than 1938,[4] RCA migrated the female connector to the rear panel of many of their desktop AM radio models to allow customers an easy method to attach an external phonograph or television at a later date.[7] The connector was labeled on the back of radio with one of the following terms: "Victrola", "Phono", "Pick-up", "Television".[11][12] RCA later marketed a special turntable for 45 RPM records, the model 9JY.[13]

In 1939, RCA introduced two radio-television floor consoles (TRK-9, TRK-12) which used the same internal connection concept but the audio output of the television chassis was connected to the radio/amplifier chassis via a male to male cable.[14] Three lower-cost 1939 television models had an audio output connector on their rear panel instead of an integrated amplifier and speaker: RCA TT-5, Westinghouse WRT-700, GE HM-171.[11][15]

In the most normal use, cables have a standard plug on each end, consisting of a central male connector, surrounded by a ring. The ring is often segmented to provide spring gripping pressure when mated. Devices mount the socket (female jack), consisting of a central hole with a ring of metal around it. The ring on the jack is slightly smaller in diameter and longer than the ring on the plug, allowing the plug's ring to fit tightly over it. The jack has a small area between the outer and inner rings which is filled with an insulator, typically plastic (very early versions, or those made for use as RF connectors, used ceramic).
