Post-DECUS grape picking expedition

As in previous years, Ridge Vineyards is looking for volunteers to help
with the harvest. Unlike previous years, the fall DECUS symposium is
taking place -- in San Francisco -- during a week straddled by two of
their likely picking dates. I'm tentatively planning to go down there
on October 11. If you'll be at fall DECUS, and might be interested,
leave me a note on the message board (preferably by Tuesday evening),
so that we can arrange transportation pooling. They provide wine;
lunch is BYO. Be aware that they warn of the possibility of extreme
weather, and rampant yellowjackets. All this notwithstanding, it's
alleged to be a lot of fun. If you'd find October 4 more convenient,
you'll have to make your own arrangements; reservations are necessary
(call 408/867-3233).
