I saw "Timelash" this weekend, and it seemed that the Doctor had already
visited that place in his third regeneration (Jon Pertwee):

- The Doctor was part of those people's history.
- Someone had an amulet with Joe Grant's picture in it, given to him by the
Doctor
- Hidden behind a wall panel, was Jon Pertwee's picture.

Now, I'm sure I've seen all the Pertwee episodes, but I could not recognise
the location where the "Timelash" events took place. Can anyone help?

To explain the premise of "Timelash" in a consistent way, the third Doctor
must have visited Karfel at some time between stories. Either the Time
Lords sent them there at a point chronologically before "The Three
Doctors" (likely), or they went there after "Carnival of Monsters"
or "Planet of the Daleks."

Ironically, I thought the storyline played very much like a Pertwee
story (in style). I definitely liked it.

Oh yes, by the way, didn't you wish Herbert would have stayed on as
a companion? (I won't reveal his real name so as not to spoil it for
those who haven't seen "Timelash" yet).

I too asked the same question, when we watched the show at a local Doctor Who
meeting, and the result was that it was a story/event that was NOT ever
made into a real story for tv. Remember we don't get to see everything the
Doctor has done. We do hear about things though.
