Formula 1 Drivers - an opinion poll

Traditionally, Road & Track does a set of driver ratings prior to the
beginning of the season. Well, being that *we* know better than those
magazine writers do anyway, I'd like to collect the opinions of the
netters on the subject. Hence, the Usenet F1 Driver Survey!
Below is the list of all drivers that drove in Grands Prix last year
(excluding Stefan Bellof and Manfred Winkelhock, both of whom died in
Group C racing accidents last year). For each of these drivers, enter
a numerical rating on a scale of 0.0 to 10.0. The 10.0 is essentially
a perfect driver, while an average F1 driver might be an 8.0. For
your top drivers (and anybody else you wish) please include comments
describing WHY they deserve the rating you gave them.
Try to factor out the car in your ratings; the number should reflect
the DRIVER and not the team he drives for. Do not rate a driver if
you have no idea of his skills. If you wish to rank one of the drivers
who were unclassified in 1985 (see list) feel free to do so.
Please try to send in your entries no later than March 10th; I will
hopefully post the results on March 15th.
