Application Programs for Athletics (football)

I was wondering if anyone had any information on what is being done out
in the world about computer applications for football in such things as
recruiting, scouting, trend analysis, etc, and what machines these things
are being done upon.
I have the wonderful task here at Tech of writing our defenses self-scouting
analysis program which will run on a CDC Cyber 990 (serious number crunching).
If you have any information, clues, or just want to let me see what you've
