I personally have nothing against short men, but maybe that's
because I'm only 5' 1-1/2", and it's pretty hard to find a
male person shorter than me! My SOs to date have been from
6 to 15 inches taller than me; height has nothing to do with
how I felt (or how they felt)...
But the shorter men I know definitely don't like being short.
AND it is my own observation that taller women (not giants, but
those who are perhaps 5'6" to 5'9") seem to preferred by men,
and get attention much more easily than the "little ones" like
myself. A tall woman I know agrees with me. (but here at Reed,
the few female professors seem to be about average in height,
with one notably elfin exception, and one or two taller ones...)
(For those of you who have any perverse curiosity, my tallest
SO is/was also my favorite. One of the reasons he likes me
is because I am so much smaller than him. Although we got a
few stares from strangers, we were pretty comfortable with
each other..."Assuming horizontality" helped a lot, however -- it
minimized the height difference. "And how did you ....", you ask--
I reply, "not standing up, obviously" *8-)
