There have been quite a few articles in this newsgroup lately in
response to the "Short Men" posting from a few weeks back. Debbie
Enright asked why short men found taller women attractive (as
though there was something especially appealing about taller women
in the eyes of short men). A few readers responded by giving their
views on why short men tend to gravitate toward taller women.

As the author of the "Short Men" article, I'd like to clear up what
appears to be some misunderstanding of my article's points. I merely
said that I have been attracted to women (of various heights) who
have rejected me (seemingly) only because of my height. My attraction to
them was NOT due to their being taller than I; in fact, some of them
were my height or less and STILL thought I was too short. I found these
women attractive for the same reasons I find ANY woman attractive
(intelligence, sense of humor, sensitivity, attractiveness, etc.), so
their heights had nothing to do with it. I tried to state in my article
that I didn't understand why some women felt that a man's height was
so important (even if the man and woman were about the same height).

I hope this will steer any further "short men" discussions in a more
appropriate direction.
