About net.sexuality.*

Introduction

The net.sexuality.* groups exist as a forum for the discussion of
all aspects of human sexuality within Usenet II (2senet). 2senet is
an attempt to fix the ails of the original and highly popular
Usenet. It's main feature is a central authority to set rules for
both the groups that comprise 2senet and the servers which carry
it. Articles which do not conform to the rules will be cancelled if
they enter 2senet and sites that produce such articles brazenly
will lose their connection to 2senet.

JUST BECAUSE THE GROUPS EXIST ON A PARTICULAR SERVER DOES NOT MEAN
THAT THAT SITE IS A PART OF 2SENET. Non 2senet sites which carry
the net.* groups will probably have much higher incidences of non-
conforming (unsound) articles and posts from such sites are likely
to have poor to no propagation in 2senet.

For a full list of the 2senet rules please see the web pages at
www.usenet2.org. Important things to note are:

(1) There are strict rules on crossposting and multiposting.
This includes no crossposting between net.* groups and
other net news groups.
(2) Articles are expected to have headers that conform to
established standards. (Of particular note, you may not
post with an invalid address, you may not begin threads
with a subject that starts with "Re:", and all followups
must have a references header.)
(3) No binary posts. No HTML posts. No richtext posts. Etc.
(4) 2senet is a privilege, not a right.

In addition to the rules for all of net.*, net.sexuality.* has the
following additional rules:

(1) No person may post identifying information about anyone
else in any net.sexuality.* group. This includes
information that is readily available elsewhere on the
internet. Identifying information does not include
attributions for cited text in followups, but does
include:
(a) Names used by an individual besides those by which
the individual uses in posts to net.sexuality.*
(b) Any other email addresses used by that individual.
(c) Any phone numbers associated with that individual.
(d) The name of the individual's employer.
(e) The street address of the individual or their
employer.
(2) No advertisements of any sort. This includes one time
announcements and informational posts made by those with
nothing to gain. Not included in this are four line or
smaller .signatures on otherwise germane posts and
recommendations for resources (eg stores, books, etc) made
by a party with nothing to gain from the recommendation in
response to a request for information about that resource.
(3) No personal ads except in designated areas. At this time
there are no designated areas for personals.

Groups

At this early time in the development of 2senet there is not much need
for a fully filled out hierarchy of groups so there are only a few
chosen from the traditionally most popular net news sex topics. As
2senet grows groups will be added as needed. The groups at present
are:

net.sexuality.general This is for the discussion of all
aspects of human sexuality. It is
also for the discussion of matters
related to the entire hierarchy.

net.sexuality.motss This is for the discussion of matters
related to sexuality between Members
Of The Same Sex.

net.sexuality.bondage This is for the discussion of the
sexual aspects of bondage, dominance,
submission, and sado-masochism.

net.sexuality.stories This is a moderated group for erotic
stories and poetry. See the FAQ for
this group for specifics.

net.sexuality.stories.discuss This is a non-moderated group for the
discussion of posts in the story
group.

If you believe there is a need for groups to discuss other matters of
human sexuality you can post about it to net.sexuality.general for
myself and others to comment on the proposal. You may also contact me
directly by replying to this post. The latter method is intended for
cases where discussing the topic in other groups is likely to generate
a lot of hateful followups.

Contact information

The net.sexuality hierarchy czar is B. Elijah Griffin, who may be
reached at <czar-net....@qz.little-neck.ny.us>. At this time
he is also the moderator of net.sexuality.stories.

The members of the 2senet steering committee are named in a document
at the www.usenet2.org web site. For general matters concerning the
hierarchy, including complaints of malpractice or negligence by czars
it is recommended that you post to net.config.
