Since we the readers of our respective "cultural" newsgroups appreciate
that a newsgroup exists where issues affecting our "favourite" culture
can be discussed, the time has come for another "cultural" newsgroup,
net.nlang.spanish, where issues affecting the Spanish-speaking world
can be aired. To get net.nlang.spanish created the "Czars/Tsars" wish
that a lot of support be shown. If you (or anyone else) would like to
help get net.nlang.spanish created, please post a followup to article
<22...@ut-ngp.UTEXAS> on net.news.group. That particular article requests
the creation of net.nlang.spanish. If you would like to help, but do not
want to post an article to the net, please send e-mail to me (as I am
collecting the votes) at the following addresses:

Rather than be specific to the culture of the newsgroup, many postings
to this group have addressed topics that are of general interest to other
Third World cultures, hence the many cross-postings to net.nlang.india.
I feel the same would happen to a net.nlang.spanish, so rather than create
it, I propose that the two existing groups and the putative spanish
group be merged into a new group called net.thirdworld (or some suitable
title) Discussion in such a group would have the advantage of receiving
input to common areas of interest from several different cultures,
which to my mind would make for richer exchanges.
