THAT, OBSERVING THE GUIDE-LINES OF THE NEW NOMENCLATURE,
COULD BE CALLED MISC.LISTS.
THIS GROUP WOULD BE FOR ALL OF US WHO ARE INVETERATE AND UN-RECONSTRUCTED
COLLECTORS & SQUIRRELERS-AWAY OF LISTS OF INFORMATION.
IDEALLY, THIS GROUP SHOULD CUT ACROSS ALL SUBJECT & CATEGORY LINES.
IN FACT, THE ONLY RULE FOR POSTING TO THIS GROUP, SHOULD BE THAT THE
POSTING MUST CONTAIN USABLE INFORMATION FOR THE READER, SUCH AS,
THE BODY OF WORK BY A PARTICULAR AUTHOR, THE PLAYERS WHO HAVE HIT OVER 500 HOME RUNS,
THE ELEMENTS IN THE PERIODIC TABLE, ALL THE CALIFORNIA WINERIES, ETC.
I DO NOT KNOW THE PROCEDURE FOR CARRYING THIS IDEA FURTHER, SO IF THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST IN IT...
PERHAPS SOMEBODY WITH THE KNOWLEDGE COULD TAKE IT TO THE NEXT STAGE.
I WILL LOOK FORWARD TO THE REACTION, & HOPEFULLY, PROGRESS.

Where is the list-keeping traffic now that it deserves a newsgroup
to itself? And what kind of lists are we talking about anyway? You want
lists of cars, do it in net.auto (or whatever it's called). You want to
keep track of the top ten songs, do it in whatever.music. If you mean to
say you just want to be able to post lists, with no regard to what they are
lists of, I really don't see how you are going to get any kind of steady
readership.
If you really want to exchange random lists, form a mailing list.
Actually, maybe the best place to talk about unrestricted lists is
net.lang.lisp :-).
