I have the EP 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' - an excellent piece of music.
The tone of the song is very ominous and moody. Instrumentally, this song
is very sparse, adding to the darkness and despair. I think these guys
must have influenced a lot of the 'negative' sounds in the punk scene.
Groups like 'Sisters of Mercy' and perhaps 'Joy Division'. I think that
Bauhaus is now defunct, due to the suicide of one of its members, but I'm
not totally positive about that.
My brother has the EP 'Bauhaus - the Singles 1981-3', which I've been
meaning to listen to. Maybe, I'll give it a chance this weekend. And,
if I remember, I'll let you know what it's like.

Perhaps Sisters Of Mercy, definitely not Joy Division. Joy Division, along
with PiL ("ANNALISA! ANNALISA!") defined the postpunk sound.
