I would like to know if there is a terminal program
available for the C64 that allows up loading and down
loading from a UNIX* system login using the Commodore 1600
modem.

For example, I would like to be able to create a file on a
UNIX login then dial up the UNIX system from the C64 and
down load the file to the C64 disk. I would also like to be
able to send files from the C64 disk to the UNIX login.

If this is possible, do any modifications need to be made to
the UNIX system?

Thanks,

The VIP Terminal Program should handle everything for you. It has direct
up and downloading capability with XMODEM protocol if you need it.
