As I understand it, you can take your entire Amiga system, including
your monitor, to a country with 220V/50Hz. All you need is a good
220V->110V transformer with enough power for both the Amiga and the
monitor. The 50Hz may cause some slight flicker on the monitor.
If you are running the 1.1 OS, your system time-of-day clock will be
slow. If you are running 1.2, the OS will sense the 50Hz and will
set up the time-of-day clock to keep correct time under 50Hz.
If you wish to use a PAL monitor with a US Amiga, you must replace
the Agnus chip with a PAL Agnus chip. The 1.2 OS checks for this
and sets up various GfxBase variables accordingly. The US 1.1 OS
does not handle PAL. There is a special European version of 1.1 which
is PAL specific (version 32).
Only 1.2 is capable of adapting itself to 60Hz/50Hz and/or NTSC/PAL.

You could use a stepdown transformer to lower 220V/50Hz to 110V/50Hz.
I think most monitors will work on either 60 or 50 Hz, so that should
not be a problem.
