"Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana"
That's no joke -- it's a paradigm for the difficulty of natural language
processing. Reminds me of an early (50's) experiment in word-for-word
translation. "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak", when translated
from English to Russian and back, came out "the vodka is good, but the
meat is rotten".
