What about investing in oil?

I have an interest in a contrarian approach to investment in the oil industry;
any comments on
- investing in companies with reserves
- investing in service companies
in the current oil climate would be well received.
Does anybody think oil prices may recover somewhat from present level
within the next several years? What about OPEC, which seems to
be in substantial disarray at this point.
