Is a lawyer needed for closing on refinancing?

We are currently refinancing our home to take advantage of the
lower interest rates. When we bought the house we had a lawyer present
at the closing and everything went smoothly (ie no surprises). Is there
any reason to have the lawyer present for the closing on the
refinancing? Thanks for your comments.
