Two URLs that I hadn't stumbled across before (at least, not that I
recall):

http://www.icannwatch.org/
http://www.cdt.org/dns/

They both seem to be doing good things, although they kind of seem to
me to be in the same bureaucratic mode as ICANN.

Several of the movers in ICANNWatch are also, perhaps ironically, perhaps
sensibly, perhaps conflict-of-interest-ly also involved in commercial
ICANN dispute resolution organizations. I think some those people have
great integrity, but the overlapping and possibly conflicting interests
should be noted more prominently in the "Who is responsible for
ICANNWatch?" page.

And perhaps not without coincidence. I'd like to hear more from Post,
Farber, and Froomkin about the possible conflicts.

FYI, Farber has argued on a few mailing lists that ICANN has problems,
but it is a better alternative to direct government regulation.
