Anyhow, I was snooping at VRx' web site to see if there was a fresher version
of the root zone file, and I happened across the new, improved whois. Neat.
But... whohosts.txt doesn't have an entry for some of the new gTLDs, like
.web? Am I missing something, or did someone else?
On a semi-related note, I did a little snooping in the alternate gTLD universe,
and it seems like there are a whole bunch of lame delegations now. At least
the .fam and .per ones are definitely lame.
Ah well, I guess the whole idea is dying. Pity.

Free time? There's no such thing. It just comes in varying prices...

.PER has suspended operations - but not quit. Jay Fenello didn't
feel he could continue with the ICANN cards stacked against
him be he has not given up, just suspened operations.
.Fam is Gary M ovr and lanmines; he got coopted by CORE but
hasn't completey given up either. He's with us in spirit :-)

Oh no, far from it.

.fam is commented out of http://www.tinc-org.com/db.root.tinc.txt and
.per isn't there at all.
Policing lame delegations does strike me as a useful function for a
registry or DNS root to do (within their domain in the former case).
