Unfortunately I can't remember the title or author. I only remember that
one of the charactors was Randy Morrow who was interested in learning to
become a radio ham and another charactor was Chip Morton or it may have
be Morson??? Chip was allready a ham when the story began and he was a
bit unfriendly to Randy but opened up and help Randy get his
novice license as the story went on. A third charactor was Dave something
- - maybee Schefield - - who worked at a TV station.
If anyone out there remembers anything about that book, I would very much
appreciate it if they let me know!
Thank you very much in advance!!

The novels are:
"CQ ghost ship"
"SOS at midnight"
"DX brings danger"
all are by Walker A. Tompkins (K6ATX)
The hero is Tommy Rockford. There has been a fourth one recently
released according to an ad I just received.
The books are available from Ham Radio Magazine whose address I don't have
handy.
They are accurate (as reasonably as the stories allow) in their depiction
of ham radio. And are written for a young audience. Jr. High or early
H.S. probably is the best age group. One of the books was made into a
TV movie, I believe, but I don't remember which one.
