I am looking for one of two things:

A company that as a service does scanning of documents.
You give them documents and money, and they return you a tape
with bits representing the document.

OR

A high resolution scanner. It must be able to read in text with
some degree of accuracy. It would be nice if it works in tandem with
a Sun workstation (work = v. to function as is without need of writing
device drivers).

As a cue to the kind of quality needed: I have done some scanning with
Thunderscan for the Macintosh and ported the results to the Sun. The
scanning density of 144 DPI was *barely* adequete, and the time for a
full scan 2 hours (1 hour scan, 1 hour to transfer data to the Sun at 9600
baud) is unacceptable.

All pointers accepted.
