Dave's Legion Rant:

Legion of Super-Heroes #106 "Dead Ringers"

Spoilers....

"High Crimes": Like the first part of the Dark Circle Rising arc, this
one gives a little time each to a lot of plotlines. Fortunately, it doesn't
split its attention quite so many ways, so some of the plots get a decent
amount of screentime.
1) Kono and her Raiders attack an Imskian lab, steal a microchip and
then blow the stargate, escaping via the anomaly-porter. This establishes
the new threat...the implication that the AP can trash stargates faster than
the UP can replace them, while not needing the things themselves (remember
all the talk about stargates being chokepoints?). However, we find that it's
only an appearance...the anomaly-porter has serious flaws, killing half of
Kono's crew and turning their ship inside out...which sets up her possible
conversion to the Legion's side.
2) A Durlan Living Weapon assassinates one of Winath's presidents,
pinning it on Cham as "retribution" for Winath's breaking away. Ayla and Lu
end up on the run from Winathi authorities, and anti-Durlan fervor is whipped
to a fever pitch.
3) Andromeda reaches Durla at this very bad time, and stops one shipload
of Winathi from trying to exact revenge, but she is faced with an entire
armada of angry and scared UP and AP ships.
There's a number of scenes between these, a few characters move around,
and so forth. Armstrong doesn't really have the hang of drawing Koko. Not
much more to say, I get the strong suspicion that this'll be a story that
works either all at once or not at all, since the individual pieces feel a
bit lacking.
