The June issue of BYTE magazine has a fairly long article on XENIX by
Microsoft's XENIX product manager. Mostly, it's a standard "What's a
UNIX" paper, but it also describes some of the enhancements they are
adding to V7. The most important is support; additionally, they are
going to add a fair amount of hardware error recovery (bad block
handling, parity and power fail interrupts, etc.), as well as record
handling, shared data segments, synchronous writing, improved
interprocess communications, networking, and languages: Pascal, BASIC,
FORTRAN, and COBOL.

I tried installing XENIX on my 16KB PDP-11 and the boot tape wouldn't
load! Then I called Microsoft Support, so highly rated by this
article, and they had the nerve to tell me Microsoft XENIX is not
supported! Thats the last Microsoft software I ever purchase.

Wow 31 years ago.....That's a long time. Did they really have computers back then. LOL. A lot has changed from the days of Usenet. Glad to see google groups has put a spin on newgroups and they're making a comeback. Usenet was the 1st Social Network and it's still around.
