Something happened today that has made me GRAVELY CONCERNED. Someone placed
an order and sent their credit card information THROUGH EMAIL. DO NOT EVER
DO THIS!!! The Internet is a network of networks and your email is routed
through many different computers owned by many different companies or
individuals. In the past, hackers have employed programs called "sniffers"
that scan the datatream for information that resembles credit card numbers
as the information crosses their network. Using email to send credit card
information is FOOLISH and exposes your credit card company to fraud!

This advice applies FOR ALL COMPANIES YOU WISH TO DO BUSINESS WITH WITH YOUR
CREDIT CARD. DO NOT USE EMAIL!! Call their 1-800 numbers instead, or send
the information through their fax.

To place an order is simple, have your credit card ready and pick up the
phone. The one easy step is:

1. Call 1-800-742-5784. That's it.

Something happened today that made me gravely concerned. A customer placed an
order and sent credit card information through email. DO NOT DO THIS! The
Internet is a very large network and your email is routed to the recipient
through many different computers owned by many different companies and
individuals. In the past, hackers have employed software programs called
"packet sniffers" that scan the data-stream for information that resembles
credit card numbers (for ex: #### #### #### #### for Visa, or simply any
12-digit number in sequence) as the information passes through their networks.
Using email to send credit card information is foolish and exposes you and
your credit card company to fraud. Instead, you should call the company's
sales office, or send the information by fax.

This public service announcement has been brought to you by Lawrence Chiu.

To place an order, have your credit card ready, pick up the phone and dial
(800) 742-5784. If you are not located in the US or Canada, call
(510) 799-3875. 1 easy step.
