I am currently porting CCA EMACS to VMS, which should take another couple
of weeks. Once this is finished, I will be working full time on the
EMACS extension language. I would be very interested in knowing what
other people think this language should be like. At this point, I
know that it will be a small but complete Lisp; it will have garbage
collection, so it will be able to support functions like cons and eval.
Beyond this, the design is pretty much open. I would be interested in
opinions on all aspects of the design, from which Lisp functions should
be built in to which EMACS primitives should be supported. Though I
can't promise to take all the advice I receive, I will certainly give
careful consideration to all messages sent to me.
