I do not know emacs, but I will be learning it soon. In the meantime, I would
like to be able to use it using arrow keys in a diamond- or inverted-T pattern,
and to have some functions (the basic ones) work as they do in PC-WRITE
(Bob Wallace's PD IBM PC program).

Has this been done?

If not, is it easy to do? How would one get started?

I do not know emacs at all; I only know what sorts of things that it can do.

We seem to have GNUemacs (ge) and JOVE (jove). ATT4425 terminals would be the
most likely target.

Can someone help me out by mail (I wouldn't catch the posting)?

Thanks much.
