At "Den Internationale Efterskole på Bustrup" you can join a secondary
school education from 8th to 12th class including as well academic as
practical school schemes.
The school is international and you will be together with students and
teachers from many countries. The teaching language is Danish, but we often
communicate in English and it is no precondition to know Danish before you
start.You will learn it fast joining the school.
We expect from you that you want to learn the statutory school subjects in
order to obtain a good exam. but that should not be the only reason to learn
things. Knowledge is an important background of understanding the exciting
time in which we live and to be ready to encounter the challenges that you
will meet in your life.
We learn in a very modern way. As a student you have your own PC, and your
teacher will help you to use it as a tool to study, to seek information on
the Internet and to communicate with others.
We also expect from you that you want to learn to handle the practical side
of life. You are going to use all kinds of practical tools, from the washing
machine to a paint brush, from a drilling machine to a shovel. Students and
teachers help each others to take care of all the practical tasks in the
school.
At "Den Internationale Efterskole på Bustrup" you also learn a lot about
what happens in our world today. We carry out research, we study, we put a
lot of question marks and try
to find the answers and make up our own minds about what is right and what
is wrong.
But we will not be satisfied just to have opinions, we also want to act in
accordance with our opinions. We carry out collections for school work in
Africa, actions directed towards refugees in Denmark and projects protecting
the nature.
We also travel to other countries, like Poland, Germany, Turkey, USA, India.
We learn about people's lives and take part in development projects.
The school is situated in Northwest Jutland in a beautiful landscape with
open fields, a forest, fjord and beach. Formerly, the school was an estate
and 50 acres of land belong to the school and give us excellent
opportunities for leisure activities, e.g. horse riding (the school has its
own horse stable).
