request for Mexican dessert recipes

Does anyone out there know of Mexican desserts other than flan, sopaipias,
assorted "cookie-like" sweets (pan dulce, Mexican wedding cakes), and breads?
We were recently invited to a Mexican theme dinner and were asked to bring
a dessert. I couldn't think of or find recipes for Mexican desserts other
than the ones I've listed above. (Please MAIL responses.)

I don't have the source at hand but I can recommend buying (or borrowing)
any of the cookbooks that Diana Kennedy has written. They are well-
researched as she lived in Mexico for a number of years. I have one at
home and it is a real wealth of information.

You may find the recipes involve long processes BUT you will be doing
it the authentic way. And if you are from Texas then the ingredients
should be easy to find down there. Try finding them here in Toronto!

I only remember that the book I have does have other dessert recipes,
including cookies and cakes (if that's what you can call them - they
are different.) In the meantime, if I remember, I'll look at the few
Mexican and South American cookbooks I have at home and post a recipe
or two if they look good.
