I am having difficulty getting my Jaz drive recognized, heck, having
problems getting the SCSI adapter recognised.

I have an AHA1520B from Adaptec. Address is 340h, IRQ is 11, and the last
one (I forget what it is called) is 7

When I went in and tried to add the SCSI adapter, the autoprobe failed to
find it, but when I did a custom using the module aha152x=0x340,11,7 it was
able to find it, but when I rebooted the system it still came up not
finding any SCSI devices.

Any idead?

Thanks,

Cyo

I would think it was most likely a cabelling/termination problem[1]. I have
had problems getting adaptec SCSI controllers to be autoprobed, so I guess
you need the boot params as suggested above. Next I would connect one
device, with self termination and see if that works. After that add devices
one by one hopefully getting them to work.

One other option is what are the SCSI ids of the devices, setting an
external device to 7 (the card id) or two of the devices to the same id
will cuase major problems.

[1] insert joke about SCSI needing 3 terminations. One at each end and goat
used in the commissioning ritual.

Did you add the magic parameters to the module-config-file (if you're
using modules), or the kernel commandline (if the driver is compiled
in)?
