[Attn: those who have written technical documentation or
know about the financial arrangements involved therein.]

A friend is going to be writing the manual for a new
programming language for micros, and has some queries that he
wants me to pass on to the net.

The group developing the language is a small independent
company with not much in the way of financial backing. They
apparently want a Kernighan & Ritchie-style book written which
will be distributed along with the software. He wants to know
what the standard financial arrangements are for such a scheme;
ie. a daily rate, a flat fee, a percentage of the profits, etc.

Respond to ME, please, and I will summarize for the net
if I get requests to do so. Thanks in advance.
